Wish I was coming again !!!

Still, not long to 'Old Contemptibles' in September.

You'll have a great trip.

Great trip, spoilt only by the hotel. Expensive (€6 for a pint!! ), in need of a high level clean and lacking in staff numbers. Had to wait 75 minutes for our meal on the Tuesday evening. Frequently had to go and find staff to serve in the bar.

Bonus of visit to Ypres on the Wednesday though.

Also one of Vic's famous 'Brucie Bonuses' to go to Adelaide Cemetery to see the former grave of the unidentified Australian soldier who was re-interred in Canberra. Very thought provoking.

Shame we can't post pictures on here as I have a wonderful one of the new Leger 4x4 cross country coach in a field near Dury Mill Cemetery with George the driver standing by it scratching his head. Anyone who wants a copy please PM their e-mail details and I will send it on.

Talking of drivers, George and Darren set a new standard for Silver Service, excellent driving, great personal service and some of the corniest jokes going.

Also having someone in the party who is just publishing a book (The Story of Two Crosses) on Bill Coltman VC, DCM & MM and who gave us a fascinating account of his life. Book ordered!

Now can I fit anything in before the next scheduled trip (Western Front Explorer) in July 09.

Hi Son of a Mick

Knew you'd enjoy the trip. Pity about waiting so long for your pint....perhaps order a litre next time !!

The coach drivers sound like the pair who did my trip to Verdun in 2006. If it's the same Darren I'm surprised they ever got out of the field !! Mind you his emergency stops were pretty good when I yelled at him for nearly running over a dog, chicken and cat ! Woke most of the rest of the group up too !

I'll send you my email for the photo.

Can you also give me details about the book on Bill Coltman please.

Counting down to 'Old Contemptibles' now.
