Thanks Paul, I'll pack the water proofs too, that tends to keep the rain away, if I leave them at home it rains

Got the final confirmation pack & luggage labels yesterday.

Getting excited!

Shame about the museum at Essigny le Grand and very surprised that no local commemorations are taking place. Or is that because no French troops were involved?

Cynical moi?

See you all at Interchange Bay 3.

Lest we forget

Hi Son of a Mick

Got my bits & pieces yesterday as well. Agree shame about the museum but I'm sure we'll have great trip.

Cynical about the French......never !! Must just be a follow on from last year.....Arras & Vimy Ridge.

The Canadians were given the freedom of the city in Arras......mention of the Brits....not a word.

Good job Grandad isn't still alive.......having spent from January to July 1917 defending Arras he would not have been impressed. Might have found a good use for the 15" Howitzer he was on though !

I'm also 'loading' at Bay 3 so looks like we are on the same coach. I'm in seat 8.

Look forward to saying hello. See you and everyone else on 'Kaisers Battle' on the 20th.

Bad luck people... I am also arriving at Loading Bay 3.

No-one was more surprised than me that no commemorations are taking place. I went to see the St Quentin tourist people over the winter. They were decidedly un-interested in the Great War, sadly.

See you all there.

Hi

I went to the 90th anniversary of Arras and spent a week in the town. I too was totally dismayed that there was no mention of the British anywhere...it was all Canadian. No disrespect to them at all...but thought a bit more could of been done for the British effort...like Freedom of the City!

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go........

Hang on, let's add the waterproofs! Looks like it's going to be a cold and wet one fellow travellers.

Who's got the rum ration?

See you all tomorrow.
