| Im 24 now and i remember when i was at school we went to france to see the dday landing beaches and other things, that was going back a few years(12 years ago! now that makes me feel old!) I didnt pay much attention then but now im really getting into it, got a few books and dvds. What i want to know is if i was to go on the dday landings tour(4day) would i see much? all the beaches? Would we go to any museams?(i remember going to one with school and they had a little cinema showing films from the day) That always stuck in my head cuz i remember a few vetrens were there with there medals on and they were crying after watching the film(bring back bad memories, i guess) Could anyone tell me if this museam/centre is still there? Many thanks Dave
My heart goes out to the families and friends who have lost loved ones.

| Hi Dave, Yes and Yes! YES You will see a great deal of the D-Day beaches on the four day tour, every beach in fact, then there is St.Mere Eglise, Point du Hoc, Omaha Cemetery the whole tour is geared up to see as much as possible. YES, when we went on the tour we visited the museum at Arromanches, this has a film display of the Mulberry Harbour. I can recommend this tour. Ed.

| Agree wholeheartedly with Pegasus. Went on this 2 years ago and was amazed at how much you get to see. I'd go again but there's other trips I want to do as well. Do the Merville Battery option, you won't regret it. So many battlefields, so little holiday/money.
Lest we forget

| Also concur, it is a very interesting tour. If this is your first trip then it certainly a good one to start with. I would recommend the 5 day trip as well, once you get there, 4 days just flies by. Regards Matt

Absolutely - we went out of season (December) so missed a couple of the museums, which were closed at the time (Pegasus Bridge and the US Airborne Museum in St Mere Eglise)... but this gave us the chance to take in Point Du Hoc and other extra sites.
The trip was superb - Tony Lea was a first class guide, and the optional trip to Merville Battery is a must.
I'd happily go back in the summer and take in the beaches again, plus the museums we missed first time out. Fantastic trip all round.

| Totally agree with you. D-Day Landing tour was supurb. Tour Guide Pete Smith was interesting and informative and has given me an appetite to learn more.

| Have to agree too. The D.Day tour is excellent and definately a great way to begin touring battlefields. Go for the 5 day tour as there is so much to cram in anything less will leave you wishing you had booked the extra days. Even then we passed so many museums that our guide told us were great but we physically just did not have the time to see any more. Maybe that is an idea for another tour for people who have already been to Normandy. A trip where alot of the other museums and lesser known cemetrys etc, are included. I for one would definately go back. I bet the forum could come up with an excellent timetable. Any ideas folks?
