| Hi Ed, I am not going but am envious of you. If you are staying at the Golden Tulip in Arnhem you will have a wonderful time there. Try and stay off their white beer as it truly dreadful. I nearly went on this trip earlier on in the year but my father opted to go on the Rhine Crossings instead. My next Leger trip is to Oostend on the 20th August as the good lady wanted a non-battlefield tour for once. I do hear that the beer in the hotel where we are staying is free after 8.30pm Have a great time and let us know how it went. Matt

| Hi Ed, i can only back up what Matt has said about the Golden Tulip in Arnhem. Lovely hotel, they do a nice breakfast, and they lay on a "Leger Guest Special" for the evening meals. Three course set menu, but very good value at 19 euro a head. Staff at this hotel are very helpful, and there is a free Internet terminal in the lobby (under the staircase). Cheers Phil...

| Hi Matt and Phil. yes we are staying at the Golden Tulip, thanks for the GREAT review. I will stay off the White Beer thanks. Matt, my wife must think the same as yours, as she also told me she wanted a (Non Battlefield trip) so off we went to Ostend two weeks ago, we went in our own car and stayed in an apartment on the sea front. I took her to some wonderful places...... 1.The Atlantic Wall Museum 2. Dunkirk Beaches. 3. Ypres on the Thursday to see the Queen Passendale 90th. Anniversary. 4. Flanders Field Museum 5. Menin Gate Ceremony. The other two days we played golf at Ostend. Do you know she had the cheek to say it turned out (A Man's holiday) honestly they are never satisfied! Just a tip, get the tram from Ostend to the Atlantik Wall Museum it's only 9 euros return including admission, if you've never been it's a great 4 hours at least. Ed.

Seems a perfectly good holiday itinerary. I don't know what you wife was talking about when she says it was a 'blokes holiday' Fully hope to along to the Atlantic Wall museum. I went there on the 'Fortress Europe' tour but like you say you need a long time to fully enjoy the experience.

| Our Itinerary for the Market Garden trip this Thursday has the coach arriving at the Golden Tulip Hotel at 11:30 p.m. Having been on lots of Leger trips I know their arrival times are pretty near spot on. It seems a hell of a long time from arriving in Calais at 4:00 to travel 230 miles SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS. Blimey XXX Corps nearly did it in that time in 1944. Phil and Matt, you've been on this trip, what time did you arrive? Ed..

| Ed, You really don't want to know. If you do then it was 1am.This was due to missing the ferry at Dover and a crash just outside Calais. The other time I have stayed at the Golden Tulip with Leger it was far closer to 11pm. Have a great time Matt

| On my trip back in March ,(Arnhem and Rhine Crossings) the Leger coaches that day all used the Eurotunnel. Personally i prefer it to the PO Ferry. Its quicker, much less fuss. We stopped on route for dinner and got to the Golden Tulip, Arnhem at 22.00 (Dutch Time). Cant say i enjoy the Ferry crossings, Eurotunnel seems a doddle in comparism, although i get the impression Leger basically charters the entire ferry for its coaches. It seems most Leger holidays go by ferry with only a few trips going via the tunnel, mores a pity. Cheers Phil...

| Thanks Phil, we are going via the tunnel, I must say 22:00 hrs. seems a great deal compared to 1:00 a.m. the following day. If it's 1:00 a.m. my party will blame ME!!! I only book the trip not run it!!!!!!! They moan at me because the pick up is so early, talk about "Shoot the Messenger" Here's to a GREAT trip, Ed.
