Hi Harmat,

I will be one of the guides on the tour. I cant promise you good weather, but I can say that the walks around Ypres are top class. Do remember to bring a decent set of walking shoes/boots and a good waterproof. If there is anything I can help you with before you come over let me know through this forum. I will check here every few days or so.

All the best

Iain

Hi Iain,

Good to hear from you again. The walking boots are packed along with the monsoon gear ! I presume there is just the one coach going, do you know who the other guide is ?

Did you receive my private message a few days ago, if not then I will resend.

All the best

Matt

Hi RMA

I will let you know how it goes. We always apply the principal of taking heavy rain gear wherever we go, even on baking hot days. You do get some looks but it is well worth the effort to ensure you have a dry day

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the message. Sorry it has take a while to reply, I have been very busy with a Passendale Remembered Tour which went well. You mentioned about the recent burials at Prowse Point Cemetery, Richard Lancaster 2nd Lancs Fus and 2 unknowns. A very good friend of mine was paramount to the discovery and initial Identifiying of Richard. One of our walks includes a stop at Prowse Point, easily one of the most beautiful Cemeteries in the Ypres area. I will do a piece there on Richard and his discovery etc.

The second guide is Peter Williams, a super chap. I must say I love guiding the Walking tours so am really looking forward to this myself! Lets keep our fingers crossed for the weather!!

Best regards

Iain

Many thanks Iain

I have been on a tour with Peter before he is excellent, and I love the travelling museum.

It is fantastic news about the visit to the recent burials at the cemetery. I am really looking forward to the tour, no matter what the weather.

Regards

Matt

Hi,
I plan to visit France and Germany from June 13th 2008 till June 30th. Iam a history buff and like WWI, WWII and Napoleon era..., so was wondering if there are others like me who's like to tour at around that time frame.
Thanks,
RAV
