| on the trip the graetest raid of all i see that the tour vists the uboat bunkers. do we get to go in to the bunkers or just see them from the outside???  hood

| Hi, I did this trip in August this year. At St. Naizaire the U boat pens are open for you walk around, there is a nice cafe in one of them. Also you are able to walk on the roof of them which allows to place the geography of the area where the raid took place from a birds eye view. The roof area is open until around 8pm and the pen area is open all the time. There is a decommissioned French submarine in the holding pen which gives some idea of how they worked. In Loreint the pens are closed to the public due to the area still being a working dock and shipyard. There is museum which is open one day a week (Sunday). I beleive Leger have made enquires to the owner to open when Leger arrived but he has refused. Hope this helps.
