| I'm 15yrs old and am going on my first tour "All Quiet on the Western Front" October 23rd. Just a few queries, much appreciated if they could be answered: 1) In the Somme region of the tour not far from Lochnager Crater there is a Welsh Memorial, My great Grandfather was in the Division it remembers so could a few minutes be spared to take a look at it? 2) On Average, how large are the tour groups? Thanks for reading. If You are on the same tour let me know.

Hi - and welcome.
The tour groups average 35-47, and what I suggest with your visit to the Welsh Memorial is have a word with the guide at the start of the tour. We try to accommodate this sorts of visits but time (lack of) and weather can often prevent us from doing so.

| Hi Paul, i notice that the "All Quiet on the Western Front" tours for 2009 have a slightly different programme according to Legers brochure , from that of 2007. Fine by me, but just wondering if the tours will be making a stop at "The Sunken Lane" like they did in 07? Also thanks very much for doing my Father in Laws WW1 Research, on his father , last year. All the best, Phil...

Also, will Leger continue with the meal/museum package deal, that we can buy at the start of the tour in 2009? Cheers Phil..

Hi Phil - sorry, I am away on holiday at my house in France, so don't check the forum regularly at present.
The All Quiet itinerary actually changed this year, so last year was the last time we did Sunken Lane. We change things regularly so people see different things as and when they come back, and the Lane will not be part of the itinerary again in 2009. However the 5 day version of the tour will now also include Wellington Quarries, which out 'test group' in March thought was fantastic.
The meals/museum package should continue but Hooge, Hotel Sultan and Longueval all retire this year, so things will be different whatever.

| Hi Paul When you say Hooge retires in 2009 I hope it's only a change of venue for Leger. Surely this superb museum is not closing ? If it is what can we do to save it ? RMA

Sadly the museum is closing, and there are no buyers for the cafe. Nothing can be done to 'save' it as unless someone buys the whole place, the gentleman who owns the collection which forms the museum will move it elsewhere, or back into store.
Hooge is yours for a spare 350K € !!

| Hi Your Guide will explain this at the start of the Tour, normally on the coach as you head out.
