If you are booked onto this tour, this is just a hello to introduce myself as your guide for next week.

As you might expect I'm a big fan of the Napoleonic period, and this campaign is surely one of the most interesting and exciting of the whole of the Napoleonic wars. As well as being a veritable cliff-hanger in terms of who was going to win, there is enough colour and controversy to keep even the most casual interest stimulated!

I look forward to meeting you at the start of the tour, and introducing you to the four key actions of this campaign over the duration of the weekend (- as well as some of the key Belgian beers!!!)

There will also be some excellent museums and excursions to experience, and if you are travelling with your good lady then I have tried to make the itinerary as fem-friendly as possible with some personal (=shopping) time in Wavre, an optional evening trip to Brussels, and even a visit to a Belgian chocolate factory on the way home!

If there is a particular aspect of the campaign that interests you, then do please let me know and I'll try to make sure that I cover it for you on the tour.

I wish you a speedy and pleasant journey to Dover, and I look forward to meeting you there on Friday.

Oh yes - and don't forget to check out the weather forecast before you pack! You can get a five day outlook on the link below:

with Kind regards
